Unusual and Original Monsters in RPGs

Unusual and original monsters are rare in RPGs. However, at least one game series, EarthBound (Mother, if you live in Japan) has made it a point to use its own, fisher-price-on-acid monster set. This page gives details on some of the most unusual we've seen or created ourselves.

It was done in Earthbound / Mother. Twice. Really.

Food

Slap eyes on them and you've got yourself a monster.

Twin Self

Evil version of the protagonist makes a good boss fight.

Cogs and springs etc.
