event_inherited ( )
event_inherited() calls the inherited event of an object. If you declare any code in the event of a child object, Game Maker will not include the code from the parent object's event. event_inherited() allows you to write code in the child object and run the code in the parent.
It accepts no arguments.
Example of Use
//in the creation event event_inherited(); hspeed = -2;
If the parent object in this example had code you wanted to reuse in the child object, except you wanted to change the hspeed, the code in the example will allow you to do so.
