At first I thought FreeBasic was just console stuff. But I found out I was wrong, you can make real games with freeBasic… The only problem is you havn't written a tutorial on it yet. Could anyone maybe post some code for drawing a sprite from an image file? Thanks.
Lachie wrote a good tutorial you probably will find helpful. :
BTW, if you do decide to write a few text games to get a good handle on the language, remember, we love them. :)
So, now I've switched to Brutus2D after I've learned the basics of BASIC. I've run into a problem with a tutorial that I can't figure out, the transparancy doesn't work. I've got the code:
myShip = graphics.loadImage("SpaceShip.jpg",&h42ff00)
but it just doesn't work.
