New Sections?

Summary:

Perhaps we should expand a bit.

New Sections?

What would you guys think if we expanded into a couple different areas? Like the C family, XNA, Silverlight, and Flash?
For those who don't know the lanuages
C Family is C/C++, C#
XNA is the new DirectX
Silverlight is Microsoft's answer to Adobe Flash
Flash is what most internet games are, some are Java, and like 3 of them are Silverlight.

Well, a section on ActionScript(Flash) could be interesting. I've used a bit of Flash myself and it would be interesting making games in it as well, especially considering it'd need a lot less prep graphics-wise for everything.

A section on C would be nice, but it would be difficult to make newbie-friendly i'm guessing. Anyways, i don't know what is happening with this site. There was talk about moving again and half way through this seemed to stop. The last changes seemed to be to Basic4GL which i think Hartnell also wanted to detach to it's own site. I'm not sure.

So the site seems to be in no-mans land atm.

Well, the general idea that I've gotten is that Hartnell is busy at the moment. Hopefully soon he'll be less busy and things could pick up again.

If there is real need for new sections then its only a good thing :)
But i would be cautious what comes for creating new sections. They quickly makes forum look unactive if posts are spreaded too much.

Yeah, that is true E.K. I found the old gdn forum too messy and difficult to navigate. Maybe because it had too many sections.

Anyway if anyone wants a new section i can imagine he would probably have to contribute much of the content himself.
